Your first dictation

Put your cursor in any text field, then dictate either way:

Hold: push-to-talk
Tap: hands-free

Hold ⌥ Space, speak, and release when you are done. The finished text appears at your cursor right after you let go.Holding shines for short bursts: a chat reply, a commit message, a search query. The key is down exactly as long as you are talking, so nothing runs longer than you intend.

While you talk

Rekody shows that it is listening, with your words appearing live as you speak.
You can keep working while you talk. Rekody follows along.
When you stop, the finished text lands where your cursor is.

That small floating capsule is the pill. It is your visible signal that Rekody is listening, and it vanishes the moment you stop.

Rekody stays off in password and other secure fields by design. Switch to a normal text field and it comes back. See Privacy.
