Rekody needs your system’s permission to place text where your cursor is. Open System Settings, find Rekody under Privacy and Security, and make sure every permission it asked for during setup is still on. Accessibility is the one that lets Rekody type for you.

Check that microphone access is on for Rekody in System Settings. The app shows a reminder if it is off. Once microphone access is granted, dictation starts immediately, with the pill’s waveform confirming that Rekody hears you.

That is on purpose. Rekody turns itself off in password and other secure fields, so your secrets are never transcribed or stored in your history. Switch to a normal text field and it comes back.

Rekody sends the recording to the recognizer whatever its level, so this message means no audio reached it at all. Two things cause it. Either the key was tapped rather than held, in which case hold it while you speak and let go when you finish. Or the microphone is muted or is not sending anything, in which case check the mute switch on your headset, and check that the input device Rekody is using is the one you are speaking into.

That is the one-time model download finishing. Keep Rekody open and stay on a network. Your words are captured while it loads, so nothing you say is lost. Every dictation after this one runs fully offline.
